RESPONSIBILITIES:

* To work collaboratively with DBAs, data scientists, and analysts to insure that the data needs of EA are being met.

* Help script, maintain, and create automated processes for pulling and reporting data

* Drive improvement in our methodologies, systems and processes

* Be actively engaged in assigned products and develop a deep understanding of game mechanics including gameplay and economy

* Have a deep understanding of large data, our data structures, and how to manipulate our data in an efficient manner

Position:  Junior Data Scientist

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Graduating students encouraged to apply

* Large data sets should excite this person

* Strong analytical skills and facility with Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, formatting)

* SQL knowledge a must

* Experience with BI and statistical software (Microstrategy, Tableau, R, etc.) and Hadoop a plus

* C++, Java, HTML 5, HiveQL knowledge a plus

* Passion for gaming, understanding of free-to-play game mechanics in social and mobile games

* A desire to learn new methods in data mining/manipulation

* Background in statistics, software engineering, data mining, database administration, or other quantitative disciplines is highly valued
